Thanks to its homogeneous architectural heritage, Piriac was awarded the label "Small City of Character" in May 2002.
Indeed, the centre of the village still houses old residences, some of which are over 300 years old that have weathered the troubles and time.
Over the centuries Piriac has built its historical legacy:
From the sixth century, Waroch, British leader arrived in Vannes landed on the shores of Piriac and named it Kiriak Pen. Today you can still here the Breton language spoken on the streets...
From the 10th century Piriac developed the culture of vineyards and its wine exports by sea to distant countries such as England! Piriac harbour became a large port for trade in salt and wine.
The tourist activity first began in the twentieth century with the development of the first seaside: Piriac sur Mer.
